Below is a listing of major events of interest to the African American community at Georgia Tech.
FOCUS Friends seeks to encourage academically gifted high school seniors to explore the benefits of a Georgia Tech education. FOCUS Friends are exposed to undergraduate degree programs, support programs, and other student services. They also benefit from the opportunity to interact with other top students who have chosen to pursue advanced degrees in their chosen fields. This is an invitation only event for accepted students.
Welcome Weekend: 24 hours of Georgia Tech is designed to provide incoming minority students with the opportunity to meet current Georgia Tech students and alumni and to be introduced to the programs available that have proven valuable in student retention. During this program accepted students have the opportunity to spend the night with a member of our Minority Recruitment Team. This is an invitation only event for accepted students.
QUEST is a summer program that introduces rising 12th grade students to the academic opportunities as well as the admission process at Georgia Tech. The students have a chance to live on campus and visit various Tech departments. This is an invitation only program for rising 12th graders and a fee to participate is required.
